Janett Köppen

Janett Köppen studied bioinformatics in Berlin and biochemistry in Halle. Her Master thesis involved the investigation of the structure and aggregation behaviour of alpha-Synuclein (Parkinson’s disease) and Huntingtin (Huntington’s disease) which aroused her interest in amyloidogenic proteins. In her PhD work she is focusing on some intrinsically disordered proteins which are prone for aggregation and disease-causing. Therefore, she tries to establish new antibody-based therapies for some of these amyloidoses.
