Janett Köppen studied bioinformatics at the FU Berlin and biochemistry at the Martin Luther University. Both her Master’s thesis and her PhD work involve the formation and effects of amyloidogenic proteins and the resulting disease patterns. In addition, by participating as an associate student in the RTG2467, she was able to gain further knowledge regarding intrinsically disordered proteins. Based on these new insights, she developed antibody-based therapies for some of these amyloidoses.
