Hauke Lilie studied biology at the University of Regensburg, Germany where he obtained his PhD for his work on protein folding mechanisms in 1995. After his PhD, he accepted a postdoctoral position at the Institute for Biochemistry and Biotechnology at the MLU in Halle. Since 1998, he is an independent group leader working on protein folding and in particular on the design of multifunctional therapeutic protein complexes.
