Lisa Machner studied biochemistry at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. Her interest in IDPs evolved during her Master’s thesis by focusing on aggregation behavior and structural characterization of modified alpha-synuclein in Parkinson’s disease.
In her ongoing project within the RTG, she continues the structural investigation of the disordered multi-site docking platform, Gab1, upon binding of one of its partners. For this, mainly X-ray crystallography and NMR are used.
