Elia studied pharmacy at MLU Halle-Wittenberg and got some first scientific experience during his practical year, dealing with IGF2BP2 and its influence on the mitochondria. Within the RTG2467 he is investigating the effects of IGF2BP2 and its intrinsically disordered region on the metabolism in cancer cell lines, especially focused on the mitochondrial behavior in liver cancer.
